MAIDNP – Modelo Abrangente e Integrado para o DNP

O desenvolvimento de novos produtos (DNP) é crucial para a existência das empresas, fonte de vantagem competitiva e factor determinante do seu êxito empresarial. Diversos factores tanto, operacionais como organizacionais ou até estratégicos, contribuem para o processo de inovação que suporta o DNP. A avaliação holística de todos estes factores, no seu conjunto, não tem sido objecto de investigação conducente à proposta de um modelo integrado e sistémico. Desta forma, este artigo tem como objectivo a proposta de um modelo abrangente de natureza funcional, que integre os níveis estratégico, organizacional e processual, bem como o conjunto de factores a ter em conta nos projectos de DNP. Com base na revisão de literatura, chega-se por via dedutiva-indutiva a um modelo conceptual abrangente e integrado. O modelo conceptual é validado de forma empírica, no meio industrial, através de quatro casos de estudo, explanatórios e explicativos referentes à implementação de novos produtos e serviços, tanto incrementais como disruptivos. Após a validação empírica considera-se que o modelo conceptual se transforma em functional. Como resultado, o MAIDNP (Modelo Abrangente e Integrado para o Desenvolvimento de Novos Produtos) constitui-se também como uma ferramenta aferidora de processos, projectos e produtos, dedicado às empresas que inovam, concebem e desenvolvem novos produtos.

PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management (UBI, 2015). Scientific interests are the domain of Industrial Engineering and Management. The main field of R&TD in recent years is strategic management with special relevance to the study of philosophies and methodologies in support of engineering and industrial management (e.g. Lean, JIT, SMED, TRIZ, QFD, DFSS, etc.).
António Abreu has received a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the New University of Lisbon – Portugal, in 2007. Is now an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ISEL – Portugal and a Researcher of CTS/FCT-UNL. His research interests are in the areas of collaborative networked organisations, Innovation Management, Quality Management, Logistics, Project Management, and Operations Management.
Helena V. G. Navas is Professor of Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Researcher in UNIDEMI – Unit for Research and Development in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. She is the representative of APQ in the Technical Standardization Committee on Research Activities, Development and Innovation (RDI). She is a consultant and trainer in Innovation, Systematic Innovation and TRIZ.
