A busca pela melhoria contínua nos processos vem sendo praticada por empresas de todas as áreas nos esforços para atingir maior competitividade.
O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar a situação da aplicação de metodologias de melhoria contínua em uma indústria química que enfrentou mudanças organizacionais e societárias relevantes nas últimas décadas.
A metodologia empregada é de Estudo de Caso e o trabalho contribui para identificar como essas alterações afetam os programas de melhoria contínua e os resultados das organizações. Foram coletados dados através de questionários contendo 86 perguntas sobre ISO9001, TQM e Lean Seis Sigma e entrevistas estruturadas realizadas em períodos distintos: entre 2010 e 2017.
Os resultados mostram que, apesar da descontinuidade de programas como Seis Sigma, o uso das ferramentas utilizadas no programa se perpetuou devido à eficácia no alcance dos resultados. Os integrantes da empresa continuam a utilizar amplamente as ferramentas em um cenário, onde o Sistema da Qualidade nos moldes da norma ISO 9001 representa o principal modelo organizacional.
Conclui-se que em um cenário de descontinuidades onde uma unidade industrial é exposta a culturas empresariais e estratégias diversas, o investimento realizado em formação para a melhoria contínua pode permanecer gerando resultados expressivos por muito tempo.
Erick Pereira Cerqueira is Electromechanical Technician by the IFBA, currently graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia, for almost 4 years he has been developing and studying articles related to the theme of Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement. He is currently a member of the SUMAI-UFBA Climatic Center. Participates in the Junior Mechanical Engineering Company of UFBA where he has held leadership positions and developed projects.
Eduardo Luiz Bonecker Siqueira, he holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) Polytechnic School (2011), Lato Sensu Post-Graduation in Production Engineering from the International University Center (UNINTER) (2016). He is currently a student of the Professional Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (PEI) at UFBA (2017) and Mechanical Engineer at the Superintendence of Environment and Infrastructure of UFBA.
Hermilio Carneiro Vilarinho Fernandes, he holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Bahia (2005) and a Specialization in Environmental Management and Clean Technologies (1999) from the Federal University of Bahia. Studying in Industrial Engineering at the Federal University of Bahia (2016). Acting as a professional in leadership positions in large national and foreign organizations. Experience in Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering.
Maria Madalena da Silva Frisch, he holds a degree in Statistics from the School of Statistics of Bahia (1985). She is a regular student of the Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering with emphasis on quality at the Federal University of Bahia-UFBA. Has experience in the area of Probability and Statistics, with emphasis on Research and Data Analysis. Master’s degree from the Industrial Engineering Program (PEI).
Abel Ribeiro de Jesus, he Graduated in Mechanical Engineering by UFBA, Master in Professional Management and Doctorate in Industrial Engineering also by UFBA with the theme Six Sigma. He performed exogenia with CAPES scholarship at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. The professional experience includes 36 years of Management in the Steel and Metallurgical Industry working in the areas of projects, with experience in the area of Continuous Improvement / Quality Management working mainly in the methodologies: Six Sigma, Quality, Management, TQM.
Ava Santana Barbosa, adjunct Professor of the Production Engineering course of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the Federal University of Bahia. She holds a PhD in Production Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2010), a Masters in Production Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2006) and a Civil Engineering degree from the Federal University of Bahia (2002). He has experience in the areas of production and operations systems management, quality system management and organizational performance management.
Adonias Magdiel Silva Ferreira, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics Science from the School of Statistics of Bahia (1994), a Specialization in Mathematics with an Emphasis in Informatics from the Bahia State University, a Masters in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (2000) and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Federal university of Bahia. He is Professor Adjunct of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Federal University of Bahia – UFBA.
Carlos Arthur Mattos Teixeira CavalcanteHe has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (1985), a Masters in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1987), a PhD in Production Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1999), postdoctoral University of Birmingham – United Kingdom (2011).
