Este capítulo explora a interseção crítica entre informação, desinformação e desenvolvimento sustentável, dando ênfase ao papel da comunicação eficaz na realização dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). Numa era marcada pela rápida disseminação da desinformação digital, a integridade da informação deve promover um entendimento coletivo e ações que direcionem para as prioridades globais, como a erradicação da pobreza, a mitigação das mudanças climáticas, a justiça social, entre outras. A promoção da literacia da informação permite capacitar os indivíduos a discernir informações confiáveis e a envolverem- se de modo significativo no discurso em redor dos ODS e destaca ainda, a necessidade de se fazerem abordagens colaborativas que envolvam governos, organizações internacionais, sociedade civil e instituições do setor privado para a promoção do combate à desinformação e fomentar a transparência. Ao dar prioridade a iniciativas educativas que fomentem a literacia digital e o pensamento crítico, as sociedades podem construir resiliência contra a desinformação e garantir que os ODS permaneçam no centro das estratégias de desenvolvimento global. Este documento apela a um esforço conjunto com o objetivo de transformar a luta contra a desinformação num elemento de destaque da agenda para o desenvolvimento sustentável, assegurando que as gerações futuras herdem um mundo mais saudável, mais justo e sustentável. A metodologia usada para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho foi a análise crítica de artigos científicos focados nas matérias da (des)informação e desenvolvimento sustentável.
Teresa Nogueiro has received a PhD from the University of Évora – Portugal in 2023. She is currently a senior technician in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Portugal and an invited adjunct professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. Her research interests are in the areas of quality, sustainable development and Sustainable Development Goals, Internationalization and Higher Education.
Inês Narciso has received a Master Degree from the University of Leicester – United Kingdom in 2007. She is a Sociology PhD student at ISCTE-IUL. She is currently a senior technician in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Portugal and a Researcher at MediaLab ISCTE-IUL. Her research interests are in the areas of sociology, history and archeology and communication.
Margarida Saraiva has received a PhD. from ISCTE Business School – Portugal in 2004. She is currently Associate Professor with Aggregation at the University of Évora – Management Department and a Researcher at BRU-Business Research Unit / ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal. Her research interests are in the areas of quality and management.
