Nos últimos anos, o conceito de sustentabilidade tornou-se cada vez mais destacado, impulsionado pelo agravamento dos problemas ambientais e pela crescente perceção da vulnerabilidade do planeta. A mudança climática, crises ecológicas, desastres naturais, poluição e escassez de recursos reforçam a urgência de implementar práticas sustentáveis, tanto no âmbito empresarial quanto individual.
Neste contexto, a sustentabilidade passou a desempenhar um papel essencial na Gestão das Cadeias de Abastecimento (GCA). Com o aumento dos desafios ambientais, sociais e económicos, as organizações precisam de reconsiderar a gestão das suas cadeias de abastecimento, respondendo a pressões de stakeholders, regulações governamentais e exigências dos consumidores, que clamam por práticas mais éticas e ambientalmente corretas. A abordagem LARG — Lean, Agile, Resilient e Green — surge, assim, como um modelo eficaz para estruturar cadeias de abastecimento mais sustentáveis e adaptáveis a estas necessidades.
Este capítulo propõe-se a explorar as dimensões da abordagem LARG, mostrando como elas se relacionam com a sustentabilidade na gestão das cadeias de abastecimento. Além disso, demonstra de que forma essa abordagem contribui para a adaptação e competitividade em cenários VUCA (voláteis, incertos, complexos e ambíguos). A metodologia utilizada baseia-se numa revisão bibliográfica e na análise de um estudo de caso numa construtora do setor automóvel. Os resultados indicam melhorias de produtividade e redução de custos nas áreas onde as práticas LARG foram aplicadas.
Ana Rolo has received a PhD from University of Évora – Portugal in 2015. She is Coordinator Professor at IPS – Polytechnic University of Setúbal. Her research interests are in the areas of Project Management, Production Management, Quality, E-Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Integrates the IPStartUp incubator as a tutor. She is the author of a book chapter and publications in national and international journals and and collaborator on various projects.
Rui Alves is a specialist in Management and invited Professor at IPS – Polytechnic University of Setúbal. His research interests are in the areas of E-Business, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. Integrates the IPStartUp incubator as a tutor and mentor in the areas of IT and Business Models. He is the author of a book chapter and publications in national and international journals.
Gracieth Mateus Leandro has a degree in Marketing and a Master’s in Business Sciences – SMEs Branch from the School of Business Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, Portugal. She works as a management and marketing consultant for POWER BUSINESS, is a professor at the University of Belas and the School of Hotel Management and Tourism of the Agostinho Neto University, and is head of the Scientific Research Department at the same school. She has taught the following subjects: Introduction to Management, Marketing, Promotional Communication in Tourism, Event Organization, Entrepreneurship.
