Calidad y deporte: un análisis bibliométrico

La constante necesidad de adaptarse a una realidad cambiante obligada a las organizaciones deportivas a tratar de alcanzar la máxima calidad posible en los servicios que prestan. De este modo, la calidad se ha convertido en un aspecto ineludible de la gestión deportiva y prueba de ello es la aparición de numerosos documentos académicos que lo analizan. El objetivo del presente trabajo ha sido presentar una imagen actual de la literatura científica referida a la gestión de la calidad en el deporte para así conocer quién, qué, dónde, cómo y cuanto se ha investigado al respecto. Con este propósito, se ha realizado un estudio bibliométrico de los documentos indexados en la base de datos multidisciplinar Scopus (Elsevier) mediante una búsqueda avanzada de términos. Del proceso de búsqueda se obtuvieron un conjunto de 104 publicaciones entre artículos, ponencias y capítulos de libros a partir de los cuales se concluye que no será hasta 2009 cuando se produzca un verdadero crecimiento de la producción científica sobre la gestión de la calidad en el deporte. Como ocurre en otras áreas, el instrumento utilizado por los autores para la difusión de sus trabajos es el artículo presente en revistas científicas de diferentes temáticas debido al carácter multidisciplinar de nuestro campo de estudio

José Alvarez García PhD in Direction and Planning of Tourism by the University of Vigo. Currently he is a professor and researcher at the University of Extremadura. Official University Master’s in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship (University of Vigo) and Master MBA Executive of Business Administration & Management (Caixa Nova Business School). He was also professor in several master programs in the area of quality management and strategy. Publications and collaborations in research projects linked with business and tourism are numerous in his career. His main research topics are: Quality Management Systems, Q for Tourist Quality, Thermalism, Health and Wellness Tourism, Wine Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Higher Education.

Almudena Sereno Ramírez is Ph. Doctorate Student Research Program of Financial Economics and Accounting University of Extremadura (Spain), line of research Quality Management. It Postgraduate Master in Management and Organization Tourist Resources: Hotel Management (MUAORT) and Graduate in Tourism from the University of Extremadura. Her main lines of research are Quality Management, Health and Wellness Tourism, Hunting tourism, Entrepreneurship and Higher Education.

María de la Cruz del Río Rama PhD in Management and Business by the University of Vigo (Galicia- Spain). Currently she is a professor and researcher at the Marketing and Enterprises Organization Department of the University of Vigo. She was also invited professor in several master programs in the area of quality management. Publications and collaborations in research projects linked with business and tourism are numerous in his career. Her main research topics are: Quality Management Systems, Tourism, Thermalism, Health and Wellness, and Wine Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Higher Education.
