Novos Mundos ao e-Mundo

Historically, Portuguese are known for their contribution, 500 years ago, to the discovery of new lands (worlds) bridging and tightening the gap between diferente cultures. In this sense, we were pioneers, promoters, and facilitators of the cultural melting pot we are experiencing today. This cultural melting pot phenomenon is certainly enabled by the e-World (World Wide Web) we e-live in. This Portuguese urge to overcome borders and frontiers emerges today in surprising ways. This paper intends to integrate two examples of Portuguese pioneering studies that overcame frontiers and were enabled by the e-World. Ultimately, this paper aims at presenting the correlations and patterns exhibited by and contrasting the results from, a worldwide survey held among QMS IRCA auditors (Fonseca & Domingues, 2017) and the World State of Quality (WSQ) index (Reis, Cubo, Sampaio, Orey & Saraiva, 2016). To our knowledge, this is one of the first studies aiming at a macro analysis of worldwide data in the domain of Quality.
