Planeamento Fatorial na Otimização de Formulações de Extrusão de Zeólitos
Usando um planeamento de experiências fatorial completo com três fatores cada qual a dois níveis, foram investigados os principais parâmetros no processo de extrusão para otimizar os extrudidos em termos de microporosidade e resistência mecânica. Os fatores de controle incluíram quantidade de zeólito (% em peso), razão ácido/aglomerante (g/g) e razão base/ácido (g/g). Os fatores de resposta foram a resistência mecânica, avaliada pela dureza e o volume microporoso, tendo-se obtido os valores ótimos de dureza de 33 na escala Shore D e um volume microporoso de 0,117 g/cm³.

Ricardo Ferreira has received a MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL). He is currently finishing his PhD in the same field at Instituto Superior Técnico-Technical University of Lisbon-Portugal.
Auguste Fernandes graduated in Inorganic Chemistry – Materials Sciences and possesses a strong background in synthesis and characterization of porous (ordered and hierarchical) materials and their use as Heterogeneous Catalysts. His main scientific interests concern the use of new and “greener” synthesis approaches (including microwave-assisted synthesis) and characterization (structure, surface properties, catalytic behaviour) of these materials by the use of a wide range of techniques.
João Paulo Lourenço has a degree and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from IST/UTL. He is Assistant Professor at the University of Algarve and Researcher at the Centro de Química Estrutural (CQE). His current research interests include the application of zeolitic materials to reactions that require acid and/or bifunctional catalysis and as supports for metallic catalysts and transition metal complexes.
Isabel M. João has received a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Instituto Superior Técnico -Technical University of Lisbon– Portugal. She is currently Coordinator of the Quality and Environmental Engineering Master Course at Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL) and researcher at the Center of Management Studies of IST (GEG-IST). Her research interests are in the areas of Quality Management, Process Management and Product and Process Design and Improvement.
João M. Silva holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico – Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal. He is a coordinating professor at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa. He is a researcher at ZeolCat of the Centre for Structural Chemistry at Instituto Superior Técnico, with the main interests being the development of catalysts and adsorbent materials based on zeolites and the study of heterogeneous catalysis processes.
Filipa Ribeiro is full professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (Portugal). She obtained the MSc in Chemistry of Catalytic Processes and the PhD in Chemical Engineering at IST, University of Lisbon.
Her research interests are on heterogeneous catalysis, especially using zeolite based catalysts.
