A Gestão Integrada da Saúde e Segurança no Trabalho no Ensino Superior: Caso IPVC
O Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo (IPVC) tem vindo, ao longo dos anos, a apostar numa política de promoção da saúde e do bem estar académico e laboral, com o reforço de medidas já implementadas em anos anteriores mas, também, com a inclusão de novas políticas que englobam a promoção da saúde mental no Ensino Superior (ES) e, ainda, a prevenção dos riscos psicossociais no trabalho.
Em 2020, em complemento à certificação ISO 9001, o IPVC obteve certificação em Responsabilidade Social (NP 4469:2019) e, em 2022, a certificação do Sistema de Gestão da Conciliação da Vida Profissional, Familiar e Pessoal (NP 4552). O projeto de Conciliação entre a Vida Profissional, Familiar e Pessoal IPVC (POCI-05-5762-FSE-000328) também se mantém em curso.
Este estudo tem como principal objetivo divulgar e refletir acerca das medidas de promoção de SST que têm vindo a ser implementadas e mantidas no IPVC e, para esse efeito, procedeu-se à análise documental da documentação interna existente, como relatórios das auditorias, da avaliação de riscos e dos resultados da consulta SST aos/às colaboradores/as.
Os resultados deste estudo mostram que foram implementadas medidas resultantes das respostas obtidas pela consulta SST em anos anteriores e relatórios de auditorias, tais como: eliminado um número considerável de barreiras arquitetónicas nos espaços exteriores, substituído o sistema de climatização de espaços, removido o revestimento da cobertura contendo amianto, substituída as caixilharias das áreas comuns de edifícios, substituídos os sistemas de aquecimento de água sanitária e de ambiente, promovidas políticas de gestão, otimização e poupança energética e ambiental, priorização da saúde mental e do bem estar de toda a Comunidade Académica do IPVC e dinamização de medidas de proteção ao nível de riscos psicossociais, entre outras.
Constatou-se que, para além do cumprimento dos requisitos legais, como a avaliação de riscos dos locais de trabalho, a disponibilização de consultas de medicina do trabalho, a verificação de equipamentos de trabalho e a realização de simulacros, foram promovidas medidas resultantes, sobretudo, do aumento da prevalência de perturbações ao nível da saúde mental e do bem estar. Desta forma, foram dinamizadas atividades que visam o empoderamento da academia pela (in)formação, nomeadamente, com a sensibilização para a adoção de estratégias de redução stress, como sessões de relaxamento e yoga, para além de políticas associadas à igualdade, equidade, conciliação, e responsabilidade social.
Com base nestes resultados conclui-se que o IPVC se representa como uma IES sensível à promoção da SST e que tem investido num ambiente saudável para toda a academia.

Bruno Alves, Graduated in Renewable Energy Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, also having a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management – Business Management from the same institute. He is an effective member of the Order of Engineers from the electrotechnical college.
Currently works in the Infrastructure and Equipment Maintenance Division of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, where, among other functions, responsible for: prepare opinions, projects and activities leading to the definition and implementation of institutional policies, ensure the maintenance of technical systems and infrastructures, develop, implement and monitor solutions in the areas of sustainability and energy efficiency, manage outsourcing contracts related to your areas of activity and maintenance teams. Also, carry out technical inspections, develop intervention plans, establishing cost estimates and budgets, work plans and specifications, indicating the type of materials, machines and other equipment required, design and produce specifications for the acquisition of goods and services, and contract work, and participate in juries for public procurement procedures and prepare and implement applications for community funds in their areas of activity.
